This play by Alejandro Ricaño is an homage to one of the most significant writers of the 20th century, Samuel Beckett, and his masterpiece “Waiting for Godot”. On stage we meet Marie and Gustave, a couple navigating between her loving submission and his frustrations as a writer obsessed with “the damn Irishman” (Beckett) and his work “Godot”. Both of them will be destined to discover the meaning of sacrifice in the context of Paris during the second World War.
Butaca y Petaca offers this theatrical piece as a way to open dialogue amongst young people who wish to defend ideals and principles that elevate human existence.
