Es una comedia musical vertiginosa que se levanta en el andamio –tan caminado- de la célebre “The Beggar’s Opera” (John Gay, 1728) y recoge en el camino citas de Bertolt Brecht, José Caballero y Raymond Chandler. Esta producción tiene un elenco de tres actores y seis músicos, interpretando la icónica música pero al ritmo y con el sabor latino. En vez de encontrarse en el inframundo de Londres del siglo XIX, los personajes se sitúan en el México moderno, en una puesta en escena tan hilarante como aleccionadora.

This dazzling musical comedy follows the well-worn path of the celebrated “The Beggar’s Opera” (John Gay, 1728) and picks up inspiration from Bertolt Brecht, José Caballero and Raymond Chandler along the way. This new production has a cast of three actors and six musicians who reinterpret the iconic songs with a Latin rhythm and flavor. The characters find themselves not in the underworld of 19th century London, but instead in modern Mexico, in this play that is as hilarious as it is thought-provoking.
